Grant opens for people with disability in NSW to undertake business or financial coaching

In 2014 to 2015, we are providing three grants to NSW people with disability to undertake business or financial coaching. The grant is now open . Please share the news and encourage suitable candidates to apply.

Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to apply for grants forms part of these conditions of application.
2. Persons under 18 years of age are ineligible to apply. You must be an Australian resident, residing in NSW at the time of application, to be eligible to enter. People with any form of disability are welcomed to apply. Priority will be given to people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
3. Applications close with the last mail or email received on Friday 28 November 2014.  Only applications enclosing a less than two-page written support material or a less than three minute video as specified in paragraph 3 below are acceptable.  The judging of the applications will take place at 10.00 am on Wednesday, 3 December 2014 at the Grant Office, c/o MMM, Suite 20, 27 Hunter Street, Parramatta NSW, 2150, Australia.  Successful applicants will be notified by phone or email and their names published on http://wongleungoifoundation.blogspot.com on Friday, 12 December 2014.  The decision of the Grant Office is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. Applications will be judged on the basis of  a) what the applicant and his/her carers’ needs and expectation for the grant are, b) demonstration of how the grant will help the applicant achieve his/her short term learning goals and c) what the applicant’s long term strategy is to learning about business or financial knowledge. Applications must be accompanied by written support material or a video that addresses these three criteria.
5. Three grants will be awarded to three successful applicants, valued at AUD$7,300 each.  The first grant is the provision of one-on-one business coaching to be delivered by Business Clarity Pty Ltd, Parramatta, to the grantee who is a person with disability and has his/her own small business for less than two years. The second and third grants are the provision of one-on-one personal financial coaching to be delivered by a financial planner approved by the Grant Office to the grantee and his/her carers.  Number of sessions to be agreed between the providers and grantees. All ancillary costs associated with the coaching are the responsibility of the grantees. 
6. Coaching must be taken before 30 October, 2015 and are subject to booking and availability of the nominated providers of the coaching service.  The grant will lapse if the coaching is not completed by 30 October 2015.  Grants are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
7. Within four weeks of the completion of the coaching, a report of no more than 5 pages documenting the core learning is to be submitted by the grantee to the Grant Office. Video recording of less than 30 minutes is acceptable as substitute of a written report.
8. The Grant Office shall not be liable for any loss or damage (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury or death suffered or sustained, by the applicants, their carers or any other person arising out of the successful or failed application for grant or undertaking  the coaching.
9. The grantee will promptly advise the Grant Office of any material change which may affect the ability of the grantee and/or his or her carer to undertake or complete the coaching.
10. The Grant Office reserves the right to discontinue the grant application process or not to award any grant or all grants if the Grant Office is of the opinion that the continuation of the application process or the awarding of the grant or grants does not serve the purpose of the grants.
11. The awarding of a grant is based on the information and material submitted by the grantee in his or her application.  A grant may be terminated at any time if the information or material is found to be incorrect, false or misleading and the grantee may be required to repay the cost of the coaching.
12. Acceptance of a grant is deemed consent for the Grant Office to use the names and photographs of the grantee and his or her carers for disability promotion and general publicity purposes.
13. All the applicants’ details will be kept confidential and will not be sold or released by the Grant Office to any other party except as set out in paragraph 12 above.
